Natalina Scarsellone

Natalina Scarsellone is a Canadian Flutist from King City, Ontario. She began learning the flute at fourteen, promptly developing a passion for flute and music. She involved herself in various musical activities and developed her craft at St. Elizabeth CHS in their Regional Arts Program where she was exposed to and immersed in music.
A recent graduate, Natalina has just completed her Master's degree at McGill University, receiving a Master of Music in Performance - Orchestral Instrument (Flute). During her time at McGill, she was under the tutelage of Joanna G'froerer, Principal Flute of the National Arts Centre Orchestra.
Before her Master's, Natalina went to Western University (formerly known as the University of Western Ontario), receiving a Bachelor of Music with Honours in Orchestral Instrument Performance and a Minor Degree in French Studies. Additionally, Natalina was the Gold Medal Recipient of her program. She was under the tutelage of Stephen Tam during this degree.
Natalina has performed with numerous Chamber Groups, Chamber Orchestras and Symphony Orchestras. Her experience in Chamber Music includes participation in groups such as a Guitar Duo, Woodwind Trio, a Flute Quartet, a Flute Quintet, and a Wind Quintet. Additionally, she performed in Chamber Orchestras for operas Così Fan Tutte, Gianni Schicchi, Suor Angelica, Plaything, Cendrillon, and more. Natalina performed regularly with the Western Symphony Orchestra and the McGill Symphony Orchestra.
In masterclasses and summer music academies, Natalina has had the opportunity to perform in masterclasses directed by established artists such as Emmanuel Pahud, Susan Hoeppner, Carolyn Christie, Miles Jacques, Nicholas Hartman, Eric Abramovitz, Lorna McGhee, Marina Piccinini, Alison Melville (Baroque Flute), Julia Wedman (Baroque Flute), Chiharu Iinuma, Julie Ranti, Sharon Kahan, Anne Thompson, and more.
Natalina has also performed in Contemporary Music Ensembles playing instruments such as the Bass Flute and Alto Flute under the baton of John Hess and Jean-Marie Zeitouni. Conversely, Natalina has played the Baroque Flute for Early Music Ensembles and Groups, under the direction of Joseph Lanza.
Now, Natalina has immersed herself in the world of Arts Administration, having worked extensively as an Orchestra Personnel Manager with the Orchestre de la Francophonie, the McGill Symphony Chamber Orchestra, and as a mentorship participant with the National Arts Centre Orchestra.
Alongside her work in arts administration, her love of teaching also remains. Recently, she was a faculty assistant at the Interprovincial Music Camp, as well as a clinician with the Intermediate Honour Band at Western University.
